We, The Green Girls 7190 started as an all girls FLL team in 2010 as fourth graders with a mission to compete at the highest levels of first while encouraging kids, and especially girls to pursue careers in STEM. We stayed in FLL for 3 years, competing and winning awards in multiple state and regional tournaments. In 2013 we moved up to First Tech Challenge robotics, and continued to grow and learn. In 2014 we started out partnership with PACER Center, which later developed into an initiative called giversity™(Giving back to the community by supporting diversity in STEM fields). This has expanded to numerous outreach opportunities that have not only allowed us to give back, but also grow by learning from the engineering community. Alongside outreach, we have had the privilege to compete at MN State all 4 years, NSR (2015, 2017), and Worlds (2015, 2017) where we have won multiple inspire awards, and connect at the St. Louis World Championships in 2017. We are proud of all we have accomplished and everyone we have met along the way!
What got me interested in robotics: All of my friends were already in robotics and I have always loved the idea of robots, programming and engineering.
Years in robotics: 4
What I love about it: I love being with my friends and building these really cool robots with my hands and programming them too.
